Office Manager Position – Volunteer or Paid (Based on Experience) Good Neighbor Community Center (GNCC) Location: 2617 Y Street, Lincoln, NE 68503 Are you passionate about making a difference in the community? The Good Neighbor Community Center is seeking an Office Manager who is organized, compassionate, and willing to serve as the face of our organization. This position is ideal for volunteers but can be compensated based on experience. Key Responsibilities: Front Office Management: Serve as the first point of contact for GNCC visitors, welcoming clients and addressing their inquiries with compassion. Direct inquiries to appropriate programs or individuals and assist clients in finding community resources if needed. Maintain a clean and professional office environment. Service Coordination: Schedule appointments for GNCC services via phone or in person. Perform data entry for services provided, including basic and emergency assistance. Sell low-income bus tickets, verify eligibility, record transactions, reconcile monthly sales, and deposit funds with the Program Director or Executive Director. Program Support: Register clients coming for perishable food or pantry food programs, notify them when it is their turn, and coordinate an efficient and organized process to ensure smooth food distribution and effective service to the community. Manage the distribution of monthly distribution of diapers to eligible children, ensuring accurate records of recipientsand mantain sufficient inventory levels. Distribute personal care kits to eligible families monthly. Collaborate with the Program Director to ensure adequate suppliesare available for distribution. Donation and Shopping Floor Assistnace: During downtime, assist with receiving and sorting community donations such as clothing, household items, and miscellaneous items. Organize donations for distribution or display on the shopping floor. Help clients access and check out donated items, ensuring smooth and supportive shopping experience. Volunteer Coordination and Client Interaction: Work with volunteers and act as an ambassador for GNCC. Serve all clients with compassion and professionalism, handling difficult situations calmly and de-escalating conflicts when needed. Administrative Duties: Maintain accurate physical and digital records. Perform basic clerical tasks such as typing, answering phone calls, and drafting correspondence. Get trained in and utilize GNCC software for operational efficiency. Qualifications: Experience: Previous office or administrative experience is preferred but not required. Skills: Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, email), excellent communication (written and verbal), and organizational skills. Attributes: Compassionate, professional demeanor, strong problem-solving abilities, and willingness to assist wherever needed. Other Requirements: Must be able to work occasional evenings and weekends. Position Details: Hours: Full-time (36-40 hours per week). Compensation: Volunteer-based with potential for pay based on experience.
